The condition where one feels reasonably free to speak one's mind and act in a manner that one truly believes to be in the best interest of oneself, team, company, and/or customers. Without safety, transparency is compromised, and without transparency, inspecting and adapting (the foundation of agile) are compromised.  See also transparency.
